Tutka graduated from the SBA’s 8(a) program in 2009 and is still thriving.  We worked closely with the local SBA office and was accepted into the 8(a) program in 2000.  We were awarded our first sole-source contract under the program in 2003. This was a HUGE accomplishment for a woman-owned, small business that is competing with large Alaska Native Corporations whom have more resources, capacity and backing than we have.  Over the years, were able to secure several government and private sector contracts which enabled us to expand our services.  We love to share this success with others as an advocate for the 8(a) program.

In addition we are certified by the State of Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (ADOT & PF) as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).  With this certification we are able to help large prime contractors meet their DBE goals.

Tutka is also an SBA-Certified HUBZone small business.
