Project Description
Tutka, LLC was awarded the project in the Spring of 2021 by the DOT/PF Central Regions. Project substantial completion was achieved in August 2022. This project consisted of removing the existing Anchor River Bridge and constructing a new 254’ span steel plate girder bridge. Tutka, LLC completed the replacement of the Anchor River Bridge 1 year ahead of schedule.
This project’s work features included temporary shoring, pipe pile installation, cast-in-place concrete abutments and wing walls, cast-in-place deck, steel plate girders, temporary splice bent for girder splices, bridge demolition, and streambank revegetation. Clearing debris was mulched and utilized as a SWPPP BMP. The Anchor River is a pristine fishing river, and Tutka LLC utilized an innovative strategy to set the plate girders, which eliminated the need to construct a temporary trestle into the river and thus eliminated all impact to the river due to pile driving and equipment working within the ordinary high water.
